I read recently that someone had digitized images of the entire western coast of the United States by helicopter. This is to document the current status of the coast line and provide a data base for comparing future uses.

It is conceivable that all - I repeat, ALL - architecture can be digitized and stored in an accessible database. We need only the motivation to do so. ArchitectureWeek is a good start and provides a well balanced selection of buildings.

By digitizing all architecture, we will give even the remotest architects and builders a forum for displaying their creative ideas.

If we focus only on those buildings that are promoted by the "glossy magazines" we will miss much of what is available in the world.

Long time visitors to this forum will recall that I have often suggested that participants show us examples of what exists in their area of the world. And if I had a few more hours in the day, I'd probably post some of the buildings I have photographed in my travels around the USA. Maybe, tomorrow...
