I have already said, Barry, I think the designs uninspired. On your proposal since not enough documented one would have to see, but I can't be at teh moment be as positive as terry on that.

It is easy to blame the architects, but many other things may produce the result that my opinion describes. That the buildings are one of the bigger commissions ever does not amount to quality, it is just quantity if you do not create a proper setup for quality to filter up.

Very likely the initial steps in selection have been discouraging enough to decide not to participate, or doing it half-heartedly or under such pressures that it would become almost impossible to become satisfactory enough. I bet that if the young architects of the world, and of the USA in particular would have taken for sure they would be going to be seriously considered, a bigger set af amazing designs would have resulted. To think inexperience for such thing would do worse than say under Daniel Libeskind, I sustain it has not why to happen, since of need construction design will have to be taken one way or another by competent people. Then we are not talking about the intricacies of construction, we are talking of the will of facing for this pereeminent site what the world has to offer in design, and it is my view, that this thing has not been contemplated at all, but just play again the game of lobbying. Since it is their site and building, worse for them that don't do.
