This reminds me of a similar book, publshed by the University of Oklahoma Press during the 1970s, titled "The Vanishing Slendor," I believe. It was mostly a pictorial, mostly old postcards, chronicling the vanished architecture of Oklahoma City and Tulsa. I'm sure there must be many such books, written about various cities around the country. A project to bring all their contents together into a single website would be a noble effort, I think.
