The beautiful TWA "Bird in Flight" is as architecturally impressive as it was when it opened in 1962. How well I remember - it was my home base, so I have a lot of sentimental attachment. That aside, please, Port Authority of NY & NJ, step back and let your eyes absorb the grace & beauty of it's sweeping lines that lead to the sky. It epitomizes the grandeur & excitement that was Idlewild, it beckons the traveler to "Come Fly Away" with me, it appears in dozens of movies & hundreds of ads and is a monument to a once grand airline - TWA - who served New York in grand style. Please don't let it go the way of the Pan Am building!
Respect it's space to spread it's wings; let the next wave of travelers absorb it's beauty, let it serve as a museum commemorating TWA & other great airlines, restaurant, lounge, a place to relax and dream of far-away places as the eyes travel out beyond the grand window.
