I agree on one point and disagree on another. Both Rice and Cornell have excellent 5 year professional degreed programs. There are others equal in content, but not so widely recognized. A B.Arch from either would be highly respected in the field. Grad school afterwards ( essentially 1 year) would not add much prestige to the resume, but would be useful in providing an alternate point of view.
