When dealing when metal sheet for architectural use one finds it mainly striated in one or other way. This is the main particular concern of this material, one would think.
However one may also focus on other things, such color, texture, details and so on. You seem particularly worried by the kind of details used at edges and how the election may affect the aesthetical result. Well, this is of course done with the help of catalogued pieces used by the sheet metal producers or builders… of which of course there are more and less fortunate solutions in place.
But except for double curvature surfaces, such spherical, sheet metal has details enough to work if not aesthetically, functionally, for almost everything. And of course double curvature surfaces are also mimicked in sheet metal by imitating it piecewise.
So in the end, see what the providers at hand have, and choose.
