May I encourage all architects on this forum to join in this discussion as it is proving to be more and more interesting to me. It would be nice to do a study on architects' fee rates in dif. countries. This to an extent will speak to the profession's standing in each respective country.
If a client will laugh at the hourly rate of an architect, yet accept that of an attorney's, it is obvious which profession is held in higher regards.
Not meaning to engage in a egotistical 'battle of the professions' but we must ask ourselves why and what (if any) is the logic behind it and what we can do to do away with such a lack of respect...
