Enormuous numbers of designers has no doubt much to do with the lowering of the archtect's fees. This of course society is paying, since there's no free lunch, and you get what you pay for. The enormous numbers also allow for some of the sons of the well heeled families to have one representant in the profession, hence the chance of getting significant projects by those more outwards of the establishment is highly reduced; as a title of example, one of the more named architects in town is the brother of the regional bank current director. I wish him the best for the benefit of our town.
Money is being branded as the way to go, and eveerything is sacrified to it. Try to get all your money to tomb, many have tried.

Do what you must, and forfeit any interest in status. They will learn to respect a true man or woman.
