Are the folks in Cincinatti not worthy of the same architects as say, New York or London? If so , why not?
I'm sure what we're seeing in Cincinati is potentially the Bilbao effect. Medium to small city seeks to bring in visitors from all over so that they might be recognized as a worthy place to be. Cincinati is a great city for a number of reasons, but is not generally known for its high culture. Why not go all out to change that perception? Milwaukee is trying it with Calatrava's piece, Pittsburgh is trying it with Vinoly's convention center and with Nouvel at the Science Center. Why not Hadid in Cincinnati?
