Depends what region you are in. First year, lean toward the bottom range of your estimate. 200k plus, don't make me laugh. Unless you're a partner at a very successful firm, never. Depending on location, 60K to 80k most likely. Check the AIA site. If money is a factor, stay out of the profession. Stay in IT, use "architect" as a verb, and make 1.5-2x what you would as an architect. Don't forget that architects are even more susceptible to economic downturns as IT workers.
