Since you bring up the subject of "these German Jews", I would just point out that Jewish society is a Matriarchy. The "Jewish mother" is not just a subject for jokes - it is the line through which Jewishness, and being considered Jewish runs.

I agree that there probably are other reasons for Liebeskind getting this commission, but my suspicion is that these do not directly involve the architect himself.

Liebeskind's style of commemoration is one with which I disagree - I believe that he encourages a wallowing in suffering, a self-pitying emotionalism.

Facts can be more effective. Unfortunately, with the WTC nobody wants to know the facts. However maybe there should be a row of Medieval metal spikes at the entrance so that the severed heads of dead arabs can be left on them to rot.

That will serve as a symbol of the greatness and civilisation that is American democracy, and perhaps the "memorial" could be something relevant and appropriate, like a statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest.

Ride proud now.
