Oh well, you didnt say, "what of recent" interests me.
Life, People, more important then inanimate objects including architecture. If you or anyone else is wondering about what I do, I design bars and nightclubs. Club Exit - The largest nightclub in the country. 5,000 persons legally, 8,000 packed. Me and my partner design for empty headed, shallow bar owners, who only want the next best thing. I don't care much for this throw away world of design. We design the coolest looking crap. I work with too many people who call themselves "designers". But what we do is a microcosm of what is really going on in architecture, the "theme design" is all that it really is. I havent seen a heavy handed architect since Kahn. Maybe its my yearning for a more meaningful existence that draws me to Kahn or maybe I drink too much and smoke too much pot.
