Thanks for your responses. The uses of steel in the NW and New Zealand are quite lovely. So I'm glad to see that it can be done effectively. I live in southern coastal Maine, US so Eileen's response was interesting. How does one prepare insulation for a steel "oven" as a house? We are meeting with our builder today and will request his expertise on siding choice. He is planning on using steel for the roof so he may have experience with siding with steel. (Steel is quite popular for roofing in the NE.)
