The insulation requirements are essentially unchanged here (but then we have a very temperate climate). I would suggest that the answers to your problems lie in how you already detail/insulate your steel roofs.

One of the fundamental decisions is whether or not to run the corrugations horizontaly or verticaly. By running it horizontally you get great shadows but the weather tight detailing is more complex.
