All you say is true and likely a foreshadowing of things to come -- but note that LMDC already may have a plan to avoid politicization of the final selection.
LMDC has hinted that only the names of finalists may be released at end of Stage One. Their designs may be held in confidentiality. This would avoid the public opinion straw polls and overt lobbying that would inevitably result after the release of finalists' designs.
This is a smart move also because it would prevent the designers from gleaning extraneous insights to the mindset of the jury. They would refine their plans in complete isolation from exposure to the approaches and subtleties of the other final proposals.
Again, all this is NOT official, but has been commented on in recent weeks by LMDC officials.
Let me ask you, in terms of the politics of design selection, what do you think about there only being one victim family member representative on the jury?
