I've just returned to this site after an absence of some months and picked up your enquiry on F Simpson.

I've recently started work in Newcastle and have been amazed by its Art Nouveau architecture (go and see North Shields Technical College). I've been taking lots of photographs with the intention of writing something on it. I've searched the School of Architecture thesis list on the Newcastle University website and have inquired in numerous local bookshops (including Waterstones in Emerson Chambers) with no success. I'm thinking of checking out Northumberland County Council records as they were the Local Authority, I think, responsible at the end of the 19th century.

I can't help you directly, but if you want to communicate with a fellow spirit and share researches just email me.
