I understand where you are coming from. I am in the middle of starting a career change. I have worked out a part time work arrangement with my employer just to go test the waters elsewhere in Architecture. The responses on this board make me feel very unsure about this career. I went to a website called psa-architects.com, and saw tons of innovative work. I do not want to be a visionary, but I am a visual person who wants to translate architecture into something that makes living spaces less cookie cutter but meaningful and functional. I also have limited interest in history of architecture. Not even sure if I am a candidate. Sorry to add to your confusion.
