Try this for a start:

Without any Architectural Experience, try Sargent and Lundy, a very LARGE Engineering Firm that has an architectural department...but with no architectural drafting or background, you really need to start with the engineering firms first with an architecture department...maybe.

Also any of the Chicago News Papers on Sunday list Job Openings for work with Architectural / Engineering Firms. Try the Chicago Tribune or Sun Times news papers, or search out your own personal contacts who work in firms in Chicago ...and simply go there to get your "foot in the door".

Good luck in this market as it isn't as easy.
