Architects work for finance companies, cost estimating, construction and construction management companies, realestate assembly, development and developer type work, computer applications, photography, model making and presentations type support work and on and on...

Doing alot of free lance work with the people you know most and then others who are looking for work for little or no cost is good practice and keeps you busy during the slow times. Realestate is a start for those who have the background to sell homes and or appraise them. You can take courses for liscense in both those fields and it is a good market now for refinance and sales new home sales.

There is a broad range of career opportunities open to those who chose to enter the environmental design professions. Architecture is the basic art and science of the environmental design professions, that those trained in architecture therefore have the broadest choice of career opportunities in the design of our physical environment.

Good luck in acheiving your career goals in whatever architecture related field you pursue and getting over the slowdown.
