I believe you are really on to something with this statement. Was it William S. Burroughs who said "Information is a virus?" If that is true, then the physical loss, the loss of life, the negative effect on the local/national/world economy ALL PALE compared to the impact upon FREEDOM as an idea, both in the U.S. and everywhere.

Did your memorial design address this important idea as well?
