Yes. But I'm reluctant to divulge the
exact design elements, I think you understand that risk. Frankly, one lousy
presentation board wasn't enough. How
come the Vietnam Memorial competition
allowed for two boards? It's too late
now, but why didn't the LMDC make it easier on everybody? Here's how:Reserve the entire front of the board
for the site plan illustration, with all
legends at the bottom. This would have
increased Section A to a more manageable
30"x30". And instead of the suggested
1"= 40' (1/8"=5'scale) -What carpenter
union builds anything in 5' units of measurement? Traditionally, the standards are 4-8-12-16, etc. -by enlarging the
drawing area an extra 10"x10", the scale
could be reduced to 1/8"=4', making our
calculations simpler and more precise.
But, nooooo.
On the back of the foamboard: the
narrative at top, sketches, photos, and CAD stuff underneath, and leave one last space the size of an opaque business envelope containing the non-refundable $25 money order. Is that a brilliant
idea, or what? Comments welcome.
