Sounds intriguing but some of the key issues you will ultimately need to address regarding the virtual studio remote competitions work are:
Who is the makeup of the lead team submitting the work from a virtual studio? How man involved? If won, how will it be completed? Funded?
Who will lead the team effort as the virtual studio head? How does one get complete cooperation from all team members?
Who will make the final decision as to what type competitions to go after? Will the Virtual Team have to be experienced in that Building / Project Type? (I assume so)If not, how can you be sure that the work is being completed by competant individuals?
Who will be the one to submit the work and with what accolades attached? Again if won, there will have to be a lead on all presentations, preparations, dialogs, and submittals.
Where will the continued successful winning work be completed? Virtually anywhere, anyplace right?
How would the project be funded from the onset to completion? Virtual Studios means virtually nobody know anybody else..at least in this approach...so who can assure they will be compensated in the final work?
Will there ever be any concensus on such an effort? From all parts of the world coming together and to build concensus could be a competition in itself...I want to be part of this for sure, just to say I tried one with a "virtual" team.
