I would suggest finding a good commuity college or technical institute that has CAD instruction. Some courses may be fundamental and generic, covering many different disciplines; some may be solely directed toward architecture. I'd stay away from self-help, do-it-yourself programs, as you have no frame of reference or evaluation as to whether or not you are making progress, and becoming better at the skills.
