The demise of the WTC along with the tragic loss of 2700 people, caused unspeakable pain for me. I saw the 2nd plane slam into the south tower while I was traveling over the bridge on the Q train and have since been contemplating the recovery and rebuilding process. I designed on my own time and effort a proposal for the site and was surprised that Daniel Liebskind's design closely resembled my concept. My concept for the WTC site and memorial reflected the destruction and also the rebirth of the site. I felt after seeing the completed memorial design submission that it was my greatest design and artistic creation to date. I felt confident that my design answered all the concerns for the site and the victim's families. So I was disappointed that my entry never got to see the light of day. I only hope that their will be a exhibit that will allow all the submissions to be viewed.
