I am a senior cad tech. that has been working for the last 11.5 years in different engineering related firms, from civil, to structural, and land surveying. My passion has always been architecture, but the small town I came from had very little architectural opportunities, thus forced to work in engineering firms. Six years ago I moved to Houston, and without any architectural cad experience I was one more time forced to work in engineering. I presently enjoy working with the structural firm I am working now, because I do alot of interaction with architects, but I still have that same urge to go back to architectural school. I just finished my first semester (part time) in a community college to finish my basic courses and later on transfer to UH. I cannot afford to stop working since I have to support my family and 2 kids. Is going part time for architecture really worth it? Will I have a job if I have to attend the Univ. part time during the day? This questions bother me and sometimes are a roadblock on my quest to someday become an architect. Laters
