If you really donīt feel you got what you needed - then you probably are getting the right feeling. 98% of profs at schools of architecture simply do not understand what designing for the users is all about. THEY DONīT UNDERSTAND HOW TO PRODUCE USER-FRIENDLY BUILDINGS. Designing a user-friendly building is all about space and people - that is, understanding the psychology and sociology of how and why humans use space within a building and outside around the building.
The only architecure school I know of on this planet that helps architecture students learn the above is the Royal Danish School in Copenhagen - where Jan Gehl has spent 35 years researching user-friendly space as it relates to humans.
Read the book Life of Pi (Pi is defintely in the title) if you need to understand the phenomenon of the spatial requirements of humans (and tigers).
