It may seem somewhat cold-blooded to merely ask for a resume, but firms have too many applicants to go through the entire interview process for each-- so they use the resume as an inital analysis to see if there is something "special" about the person that would be better explored in a formal face-to-face interview. If you are asked to interview in person, you better have your portfolio with all of your best graphic "goodies" in hand and ready to show and discuss. You have to fuormulate your resume to become a "grabber" to catch the eye of the reviewer, so they become more interested in you. Good luck!
