More importantly you must begin to view architecture critically. What is good about what you see and why? What is bad, and why? This is an ambitious assignment, so you may want to narrow down your focus, eg: write a modern manifesto, or a traditional one, or a manifesto of housing design, etc. Also look at known manifestos:
Corb's Vers Un Architecture, Paladios Four Books, Alberti's 10 Books, Koolhaas, Bruno Taut, etc.
