There is a house in Mar del Plata, Argentina designed and built by architect Rene Staudenmaier in 1969.
The house is round and subterranean. It has as a 39' diameter glass dome that brings the light from the exterior. The visible part of the house (the dome) from street level "floats" on a garden like a flying saucer.
Rene Staudenmaier studied architecture in Tucuman, Argentina, in the time when some of his professors were European modernist architects that had emigrated to Argentina after the war.
