john regrets it in a big you can read between the lines. I feel sorry for him and the other aiancarbnoambitionarchitects who cry at the system of keeping us on the up and up and for the better of the profession. Take his word for what they are worth, but you will finds thousands of others opposite him, who are out there (and not in here) making a decent living at it with true dedication to the profession. Sorry it costs more than john can afford and yes there are starting salaries and there are startign salaries. Go find the one best suited for you.

Stray away from the cry baby advice, and go with your heart at what you would be most happy with in doing. Don't worry about the math part. You will be successful if you are design oriented without knowing the pythagorium theory!
