A comment regarding the article author's final statement, "This is a poignant story of a search for an architect. But while unveiling the private man, it hardly does justice to the buildings that make him great." From the perspective of professional architecture, this may be true. But the film aims to pose the larger question of what makes a person great -- is it great buildings, or great ability to touch the hearts of others by realizing one's responsibility to one's family? Obviously, Kahn succeeded greatly on one of these counts, and failed greatly on the other. To only lament that the buildings were not better described misses the movie's point.
