thank you for your responses. i am a newly registered architect and this is one of my first jobs on my own so any input is appreciated. we have decided to do a course of cmu at the garage door opening to match the height of the existing wall. (fortunatley, the driveway slopes away from the door) we also plan to drill every 24 thru the block into the slab to ensure the connection.

my question is this? what is the best way to seal the joint between the cmu and the existing slab? i fear that water, over time, may seep under the block and into the crawl space.

your input is appreciated.
