Donald,

I really like how you focused on public service. I'm quite guilty of letting my career aspirations get flustered by my ego. It's not all about me after all, is it?

Fred -
I think you need three things, in equal measure, to be an architect.
1. The mind of a scientist
2. The soul of an artist
3. The heart of a martyr
I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but it should give you something to think about, at any rate.
