Who else thinks the quality of living in NYC is way overrated?

I live here and I feel it's way overrated, way overpriced. There are so many better places to be in the country - more enjoyable living situations. Why do we all squeeze onto a friggin island and think it's so cool? It's dirty, grimey, crime ridden, the people here are the rudest, mosst miserable people I have ever lived among. The weather sucks so much, the rivers are disgusting, the architecture isn't all that, and commuting everyday on a dump of a subway is hell. The people who ride the Q from Brooklyn make me nauceous....does anyone else feel this way?
