Designed well by who's standard.
Many people just want the maximum square footage for the least price. If they get that, the house is "well designed" by their standards.
At the end of the day, a well designed house is one the owner's are happy and healthy in. However, that leave quite a bit of room aesthetically for debate among non-owner's. :)
