Does anyone know about Smith Houses? We are thinking of buying a "Smith House" which has a solarium with tiles that heat. Supposedly, when the sun heats the floor, the heat rises in this open solarium. The vents allow circulation of the air up, through the ceiling, down the west side of the house, under the floors and back into the solarium on the east side. Do you know how effective this is in circulating the heat and keeping heating bills down? I realize many other things are dependent to keep a home warm, but I just want to make sure we understand the Smith House principle. Thank you.
