Ars is essentially tekné; i.e., any art surmises etymologically and semiotically the particular ability to produce something that is understood by lots o people or most as "artful", "artistic" or if you want full of something being conveyed and beautiful. Art is in such sense, and so artisans are very much appreciated even today by popular purchasers that have one less elitist formation, but the concept being totally equivalent between peoples of different upbringing. Loos choose your view considering utility as cause of exclusion of the category of art; most people that appreciate architectures, and lots of architects between them think otherwise. This kind of our discourse may be interesting, but it is in some sense vane. The interesting point for any practicing architect is that she or he should produce the best building he is able to deliver, taking unto account the most she/he cans of whatever circumnstances the project is surrounded, and of h's knowledge.
