See "Portable architecture as a rehabilitation measure for architecture" posted 01:00:58 8/21/01 and my response about R. Buckminster Fuller posted 16:35:23 08/26/01 for a good source book with pictures.
Why not make a structure out of coated fabric that is self inflating, self supporting, lightweight, easily stored and transported, in a geodesic dome style?
I agree with Manuel Oliveros that we often make structures that weigh too much. I read once that Bucminster Fuller had a discussion with Frank LLoyd Wright asking Mr. Wright how much one of his houses weighed. Should we not be more efficient with our resources, especially with emergency relief housing?

I am not affiliated with this company in any way. I found it by searching the web. Instead of using aluminum struts why not use inflatable tubes as struts?
