To Mr. Malachy Larkin B.
The moment I saw the towers collapse I knew something was not right. The world has never seen a building pancake before. I have never seen a building do this before. I have been in the engineering field for over thirty years. I own my own machine shop on Long Island. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see the mistake that was in the World Trade Center's design. I too have been criticized about my point of view.. Some people don't want to see the truth. The art of engineering and the math related to engineering is all about the truth. The biggest problem I have today are all the administrators running things. This country better wise up. Its OK for the administrators and the accountants to make changes to refrigerators or toasters, but not to any thing that involves human lives. I know all about the politicians getting here hands into things. They are wanna be engineers. They seek the glamor and the thrill of what they see as being truly manly. Hey boys stick to your accounting and let the real men, real engineers and architects do there job.
Presently at the famous Jones beach theater on long Island, the administrators got there hands on the design of additional setting. There was built another level on top of he existing stadium. Some administrator suggested if they made a little change here or there, they could add an additional 200 seats. How dare they second guess the designer. But they did and the structure is unsafe.. Remember the Space Shuttle Challenger, need I say more...
