Think it a bit odd to discuss "...that fire had never caused collapse in properly sprinklered building" after noting that 18,000 gallons of fuel were released in the towers. No sprinkler system is designed for that fuel load, especially a high rise office. Fire proofing of structural steel is not designed for aircraft impact damage. Do not think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out why these towers came down. Just surprised they lasted as long as they did.
