I am offended by this response.
Those towers SAVED lives. Their desing withstood the impact of two 767 jets, and they only collapsed because of the intense heat generated from all that fuel.
I challenge any architect to design a building that could withstand such intense heat.
As a New Yorker, I am appauled at your representation of those towers as anything less than protective of its inhabitants.
Over 50,000 people could have died that day.
only 6,000 did.
Any other building would have collapsed on impact. THE FACT that they stood - one for 56 minutes, the other for 1 HOUR and 30 minutes just goes to show how their strength, and architectural MARVEL saved lives that day. Their design, two complimentary methods for carrying load (I am not an architect but my point is the core was not solely holding up that building) is what saved many many lives that day.
DONT DETRACT FROM THAT WITH YOUR INACCURATE PORTRAYAL OF THE CAUSE OF THIS TRAGEDY BEING THE DESIGN OF THOSE TOWERS!
