Barry:

The merging of culture, religion and culture into architecture seems to be the norm rather than the exception throughout the world, except here in America. Our history is bleakly short compared to most civilizations we study, and our form of government has promulgated a separation of belief systems, cultures and the "business" of architecture, by-in-large. I often long to design in an environment where the grace of a long history, steeped in tradition dictates design rather than economics.
