My father built a three wheeler long before three wheelers and four wheelers were common. We had an old self propelled one-wheeled lawn mower/garden tractor with attacments on the front.

He mounted an old refrigerator box on a two wheeled frame that he built. We hitched it to the garden tractor after removing the mower attachment. We used it as a self-propelled lawn and garden cart. My brother and I had lots of fun using it. He also made go-carts for us.

My father never seemed to be interested in getting patents on any of the things he invented. He just saw a need and made whatever. He later did a lot of wood working and made things for other people.

Did your father ever try to get any patents?

Note to all: If you come up with a novel idea you might want to get a patent, if you are interested in developing the idea to make money.
