I don't normally follow this forum, but came accross it doing a google search for hybrid rebates.
I think the IRS response is wrong. I read the IRS publication mentioned, and it seems to only include alternative fuel vehicles. Be carefull if you claim the deduction. Be sure and save a copy of the email above in case it's questioned.
(remember, the IRS only answers 75% of the questions correctly, but this up from 50% in earlier years!)
