I own a Prius in the UK. So, 42.6MPG (US)= 52.1MPG (UK). I get 44.8MPG (UK)=37.3MPG (US) for 'combined mileage', while the display indicates 57.5MPG averaged over 370 miles. The display precisely matches the Toyota UK Specification! Evidently, the car uses 28% more fuel poured into the tank than shown on the display. Since the high voltage battery pack is reckoned to improve fuel consumption by 30% I figured that I probably have a faulty pack.
My supplier has tested the vehicle with a hand held computer at 55MPH and says the car did 55MPG, oh, and the battery is OK because it was tested by the computer. The bottom line is: Has anybody out there actually measured the amount of fuel they have poured into their tanks for given mileages? If so, did they get good correlation between display and actual fuel consumed?
Regards
Pete J
