HEY!
I posted several times about a geodesic model and nobody helped me out! Now i'm offended 8). No matter; i found Dome.exe on my own and worked things out. Tom, i've posted a .dw file i generated for myself at my webpage; follow the link at the end of the message to dload it. You can find Dome at this site.
Since there are now two of us interested, maybe you have some ideas or someone else out there has an idea. I'm still having the problem i had before; the shells generated by Dome are just shells. I'd like to find a way to give them thickness so that i can cut windows, chimneys, etc. into the wall. Right now i'm just using two nested shells with a 1' difference in diameter to simulate a 6" outer wall. This will work okay, i suppose, but i'd really love to have a 6" thick shell to play with. Any suggestions on how i can generate one? I had thought about idividually extruding each triangle to the correct thickness, but i can't figure out how to get them to extrude in the direction perpendicular to themselves (as opposed to standard x, y, or z axis).
Thanks all for your input, and Tom, i hope your project goes well. Maybe we can collaborate for ideas?
