Actually i slightly overcomplicated that procedure. Although finding the angles of the triangle panel using the dot product is fun, it's not neccessary if you're finding the length of all 3 sides by the distance formula. So apply the distance formula first, then find someone who remembers how to get the angles of a triangle from the lengths of the three sides. I know there's a formula for it. Law of cosines or something like that.
