Jeff -
Last month I bought a whole new system - I think we are among the few on this forum who do not use mac.

I've got the same processor (AMD 1000), 512mg ram, and 64mg video card - I'm glad I went with the 64 instead of the 32mg - I think it makes a difference. As far as the processor goes, I have been told that AMD outperforms Pentium in several areas when tested, especially where 3d is concerned.

You will be very pleased once you add more ram - I had 96mg before upgrading and it makes all the difference in the world.

My one regret - I wish I would have investigated getting dual processors - when a process is running slow and I check the usage meters, my cpu's always maxed out. If I add a second computer in the future, it will likely be the g4 mac - its specs look pretty good to me. I have a feeling that once I start getting into animation in artlantis I am going to want more power.

Good luck,
