There are a few known bugsin DesignWorkshop that can causes this error. Undoing the rotation of an extrusion, polyhedron, or group is one such case. Viewing Lights and Textures with a zero sized window is another.
These are known problems which will be fixed in a future version of DesignWorkshop.
Saving frequently and making backup copies is good practice with DesignWorkshop, and every other program you use.
Rather than undoing a rotation you can use the rotate tool to rotate the object back to its previous orientation, or type in the previous angle (most likely 0) into the Object Info window.
