If an object is first rotated in one plane, and then rotated in a second plane, the rotation in the first plane changes and is no longer accurate.
Solution?
I am trying to make ridge caps for a hip roof.
I have created the cap which is string of shingles grouped together.
The grouped object is rotated in the plan view by entering an angle value in the object info pallette. The grouped object in plan view now accurately matches one of the roof lines of the hip roof.
The object is ungrouped and then regrouped — this changes its angle value back to zero degrees.
In an elevation view I enter a new angle value in the object info pallette. Looks great in the elevation view.
However when viewed in the plan view, the original rotation has changed and the ridge cap is now askew in the plan view.
Is there a way to solve this?
Thanks,
Brian
